Noel and I were talking last night, maybe like a typical American family right now (at least those in military communities). What could happen within the next year? Could we actually have World War III? Russia doing crazy (and cruel) things in Ukraine. China making moves toward Taiwan. North Korea firing missiles. Iran defying almost everyone. What a mess and that does not even address our American issues.
Yet, we say we serve an unchanging God, and we do. He has promised to always be with us, and He will. He has placed us in families and in our church family. Noel and I were saying how comforting it is to be together in the right now, regardless of what the future might bring. We have been a family for 33 years; our son joined us 30 years ago. That is a lot of love and a lot of comfort right there. And we joined Tab on January 2, 2000 (purposely chose that date, as we left the Episcopal tradition behind). So that is a lot of love and a lot of comfort right there, too.
I know we all try to write or say thankful things in November. That usually lasts till about Vaterans' Day, then we get busy arranging Thanksgiving dinner, LOL!
So I will just say it, timestamped on November 3. We are thankful for you good folks and we are thankful to be alive in 2022, a most exciting time to live. Whatever the future brings, we will face it together and God will meet us there.
