In late October early November 2022 I was blessed to be able to travel to Vancouver British Columbia, for my job. I contacted Pastor Baker to find out who our missionary was out there. Pastor gave me Derrick Goette’s contact info. Through email I reached out to Pastor Goette to inform him who, and were I was from. He was excited about me reaching out to him of my travel to VBC, and me wanting to meet him and attend his church services.

After meeting Pastor & Mrs. Goette, my time was full of excitement, good conversation, and spiritual growth while I was there. Thanks Mrs. Goette for home baked cookies. I spent two Sundays and a Saturday prayer meeting in fellowship at Harvest Baptist Church, where Pastor Goette is the preacher. His church family welcomed me with warm hearts, and good food. This church is we’re our Cheryl Chaokas is from.

Throughout the time I was there Pastor Goette took me to some exciting places all over Vancouver. Our furthest point was Whistler BC, where the 2010 Olympic Winter Games was held. We also made stops to Shannon Falls Park, Porteau Cove, Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, Cleveland Dam, Grouse Mountain, and  Capilano River Fish Hatchery.

Pastor Goette has been blessed to be able to be in good physical condition at age 79. He invited me to work out with him in the gym, at the crack of dawn LOL. Thank the Lord I was able to keep up with him.

I thank God that I had the opportunity to meet a fellow Christian brother like Pastor Goette,  and be able to spend time with him and his ministry.
