Studying II Corinthians 6 this week, I had a great blessing.
Pastor always reminds us the chapter breaks are not divinely inspired; man added them. Yet context does matter.
This chapter tells us in v. 14 to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers and in v. 17 to come out from among them.
But vv. 1-13, while describing the joys and perils of Paul's life (to let us know we will have joys and perils as Christians, too) in vv. 11-13, we are told of Paul and his people being mutually "enlarged" (welcomed and embraced in love).
There is the key I never saw before. We are not just coming out from among the pagan people who surrounded us before salvation, we are coming to the Christian people who welcome and embrace us in love. Those are the people with whom we can be equally yoked.
I am so thankful to be in a church where we welcome and embrace in love.
