Marci and I are so thankful for each of you. Have a blessed Thanksgiving weekend. See you Sunday. And most of all - "Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift. "
Oh how thankful I am for my Pastor and Ms Marci and church family. I'm blessed to be saved, I wouldn't know what to do without my God and my Lord and savior.♥️🙏
So many thoughts on a day to be especially grateful:
1) Jesus came and made the Great Exchange for us.
2) The LORD has placed us all in families as He saw best. I remember thinking my mom was extremely hard on me as I was growing up, but two years after her death I clearly see God used that, the good and the bad of it, to keep me from turning into a terminally lazy person!!! :-)
And those of us who are married are in relationships Christ will use to grow us more into His image. We joyfully commit to that—it is not a chore to sacrifice for your best friend!
3) We are in a beautiful country with much freedom. Probably everyone thinks their own country is the best, but this one is amazing. Oceans protect us from war on two coasts; friendly countries north and south of us have largely kept us from any war at all within our hemisphere. We have vast expanses of our country that are unpopulated and filled with astonishing mountains, plains, and rock formations. Whenever God designed those (at Creation, during the Flood, or due to wind, sun, and rain since then), they are awe-inspiring.
4) We all have enough to eat and clothes to put on today. More than enough compared to most of the world.
5) And we have our church! There are many faithful churches and gifted pastors all over the world but Tabernacle is where God has placed each of us. It is a joy to serve others and love others here. I have always had moments of realizing how much I love you all but when Pastor Alex and I were practicing “How Beautiful is the Body of Christ” those two months, I kept thinking of the saying, “Jesus absolutely adores His Bride, and so do I" because that song made it all real for me. “How beautiful the feet that bring the sound of good news and the love of the King”—Kathy and Kirk and Bob and Shelia were sitting right before me as I sang! “How beautiful the hands that serve the bread and the cup and the sons of the earth”—Steve Landreth and John Turner and other deacons were right out there and Pastor and Pastor Alex were behind me, the hands that literally serve that symbolic meal that reminds us of the LORD’s sacrifice.
Noel and I love you all very much—we thought the Tuesday night service this week was amazing! Happy Thanksgiving!
