A body of believers goes through many experiences together to forge its bonds.
They are all good for building the body in some way but they do not all have the same purpose.
The livestream brings a certain formality to our services.
The Faith Wins rally this Thursday (along with other events we sponsor at Tab) invites other churches and has to be carefully planned, minute by minute.
But the bonfire last night showed the value of having spontaneity sometimes. Noel and I loved it! Beginning with the potluck in which we are all surprised by what we have brought (whoever made the mint chocolate patties in cupcake wrappers: those were amazing), we move on to casual children's games and cornhole. We then have our players of stringed instruments lead an impromptu hymn sing. Unrehearsed and amazing. They found a proper key for every suggestion called out by the congregation (thanks, Kyle, Whitlee, RuthAnna, and Zack). Then impromptu testimonies and a challenge.
We all were totally included in last night's gathering. Anyone could suggest a hymn or give a testimony, even if they would never feel comfortable doing that on the livestream.
It was Family Night at its best. Loved it! Thank you to all the planners and firebuilders who made it happen.
So very well expressed 👌🏽
Thanks for the write up, Mary! We gathered that just by looking at the pictures and videos that were posted! I loved the video where Pastor told the instrumentalists “hit it” or something like that, and they played a bit by themselves. I love ukulele, banjo, mandolin music (just a hillbilly at heart, I guess!!
Doesn’t trump over violin and guitar but I love to hear them all!!
So sorry we couldn’t be there this time but so thankful for our Tab Connect that brings a bit of it to us!! Soooo thankful for our church family! 💕💕💕
