I love that our son, Joey age 31, is able to live and work independently in small town Union Grove, Wisconsin with support from the Anchor Program, spun off from Shepherds College.
Tonight he and his roommate attended the town's Christmas Tree Lighting in the small pocket park right below their second story apartment on Main Street. They then walked to the Subway across from the college for their dinner.
We have never been to Union Grove in winter because Joey comes here for Christmas but I can just picture those beautiful tree lights below their tall windows.
On the Fourth of July, the parade goes past their place. In September, when we were last there, they festoon every lamp post and storefront in town with autumn and (non-scary) Halloween themed decorations.
I am sure spring/Easter is beautiful as well, but we have never been there at that time either because that is the other time Joey comes home.
What a blessing for a young man with disabilities to have a place to reach his full potential with other disabled Christians, staff who love them, and a super supportive church! Praises!
What a Blessing for Joey❤
Happy for Joey, God is so good!
And they have the Anchor Community Christmas Party on Tuesday at Golden Corral, with shopping and a private Christmas movie showing to follow.
What a blessing!
So happy for Joey! What peace that must be for you and Noel too.
God is so good to us!
So happy for Joey!! 💕💕
