Now I know how the woman in Luke 15:8-10 felt. The one who lost one of her ten silver pieces. Last night Joey arrived at his home in Union Grove without the Wisconsin state ID with which he had flown.
Worse, it had been in an envelope with his new military ID. The one he needed to get when I turned 65. The one I had taken Dec 26 off to go get with him at Fort Story.
The ID envelope and his money envelope had been zipped into an inner pocket of his jacket before leaving Norfolk. But they had stopped at his favorite DQ on the way home. The one across the street from Shepherd's College. He had taken out both envelopes at the restaurant and returned them to a front pocket. The IDs had fallen out.
Joey woke us up after bedtime with a phone call. All we could do was ask him to look outside in his parking lot while we texted his escort, who had forgotten to collect the IDs from him when he landed. We did not get upset. We just made her aware of what had happened (Joey had switched to another person's van at the airport so the original escort never realized the IDs were still with Joey).
This morning I went off to work at 4:30 and kept praying, as I knew Joey and the Wisconsin folks were. At about 9:00, he wrote to say the IDs were found on the floor of the second escort's van! Oh, glory!
The lost has been found! And Joey does not need to replace all his IDs before his Easter trip home. Glory to God!
😁👍
Thank you God for your loving care and watch over my Joe.♥️🙏
God is good.
Praise God!!!
Praise the Lord! God is good!!
Awww! That was a scary time and hard for you to calm down especially since you couldn't be there to help with the search.
God gave me a verse this past year of 2023. 1Thess. 5:18. "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you". This verse brings me comfort because I know God is with me even in the worst of times.
So glad God worked it all out for y'all !
You know the fight against panic, sister Kathy! I did have difficulty falling back asleep!!!
It is so unnerving to lose something…..and so overjoying when it is found!! I always try to remember to pray at the onset of the search 🔦 so as not to get so overwrought!! God has been so good through the years and we have never had to go through the process of having to replace ID’s (and it is such a hassle in Brazil). So very glad that Joey’s things were found! 👏👏💕
