Thank you for all your prayers as it was much needed during this week. This week was really hard. The kids were not well behaved, didn’t pay attention during services, and disrespectful. You could feel the tension during the evening services- kids moving in their chairs and randomly standing up, getting up and using the restroom for long periods of time,
talking to their neighbors loudly as if there was no preacher preaching, etc etc. There was so much hesitation for kids to come forward during invitation. It was almost discouraging to me and the other staff members but God has a purpose for everything. Last week God taught us that there is a purpose for us here at camp and that there are children who are still responding to God’s Word. This week, however, God taught us so much more. He taught us to lean on Him in ALL that we do and think, to trust Him with everything, to be purposeful in our prayers, and to share our burdens with one another. Me and a few other girls had unintentionally started what we call our “Snack Devotion Club”. I say unintentionally because it started out as me and my friend wanting to eat snacks because we were hungry, then 3 more girls joining and then us deciding while we eat we should share what we learn in our personal devotions and share our burdens and pray for each other. Our snack devotion club takes place every night around 10:30 / 11 at the latest and can take as long as 2 hours. Tuesday night was a night where i could finally sit down with Anna (my prayer partner) and ask her how she felt about our new girls and how i could be praying for her. She started talking and eventually was in tears while she shared her burdens. We started with 7 girls in our cabin and over the course of the week 3 went home- I did my best to encourage her with God’s Word and to let her know that she shouldn’t doubt herself as a counselor but rather look to the Lord because His strength is made perfect in our weakness. She expressed to me the spiritual warfare that was happening this week. The devil was hard at work trying his best to distract our girls from fully hearing God’s Word. We discussed this and then prayed with purpose that the Lord would have the victory at the end of this week. The next night the girls during our devotion club brought up the same thing and instead of sharing our personal devotions we took time to pray for each girl in our cabins and for some special intense counseling situations that had come up during this week. Tonight during the bonfire testimony service we saw the answers to the very prayers we prayed not too long ago. So many souls saved and more decisions made. Just because we can’t see the fruit right away doesn’t mean that God isn’t at work. This week ended with a victory and with such encouragement to our souls. Please continue to pray as Jr Weeks are officially done that all the kids would keep pressing on with their decisions for Jesus. Teen Week is coming up and we are so excited to see what God does next. What we say here is that it isn’t week 3, it’s WEEK ONE!! Please pray also for our ministry team as we travel Sunday to some churches to sing and minister!
1 Corinthians 3:8
John 6:44
Isaiah 55:11
Some verses to encourage you. You may be used by God to plant a seed, or to water a seed that is already been planted, just remember the Lord the draws the people to Him in His perfect timing. He does the heavy lifting,he takes the pressure off of us! Ms. Donna says don’t be discouraged. You can doubt, you can fear, just don’t ever doubt the Lord and the promises in His word! 😃. We are both very proud of you and your example and wish there were so many more people like you as young people. Keep praying and those snack devotionals going and watch the Lord continue to move!! He is worthy!! Thank you for the updates! 🤗☝️☝️🙏🙏
Hi Amanda..Thank you for sharing your heart in your post. Praying for your girls, you and all the counselors.. Philippians 1:12-14...don't get discouraged..use these opportunities for your faith to grow stronger
As Paul did! Continued Prayers for all of you and the upcoming teen week...Miss you 💕
Thank you for sharing. Love to hear all about what's going on there and how God has and will move in a mighty way. So happy that y'all can do devotions and pray together and encourage one another! Stay strong in the Lord! Satan wants the children and he wants to discourage y'all but keep your eyes on the Lord He knows all about it. Praying for this week coming up!
Will be praying for you. Bob was post- op from cataract surgery so couldn't come last week and we are now on our way for a Great Lakes cruise, so he'll miss another. But you and all of the workers will certainly be in pur prayers!
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised. Keep on doing what you and Anna are doing. Obviously you are having an affect because Satan is attacking even more. Watch the faces and body language of the girls ask the Lord to open the door to talk one on one with one of them.
Wow, Miranda! What an update! I think you and the other workers are growing and learning too! What an experience for you! Prayed that the Lord will strengthen you!
Miranda, you are learning sooo many things that are so important for ministry for the Lord. Someone sent me this poem years ago…
I walked a mile with Pleasure,
She chatted all the way;
But NOT ONE THING I learned from her
For all she had to say.
I walked a mile with Sorrow,
And not one word said she;
But OH the things I learned from her,
When Sorrow walked with me!!
God will have his way in the whirlwind. We are called on to just TRUST and OBEY. Your Tab family is praying for you and many others I am sure. You young ladies are going to make such a difference to those young girls, whether they manifest it or not!! Praise Gid for each eternal decision!!
A long read but good to see all is going well! Praying He will continue to direct you all.
So thankful God is growing you and others. Keep trusting the Lord as He leads you. Praying for the Lord's will in all you do.
Great spiritual adventure with God . Praying for you and the next group of teens coming. Thankful you have this opportunity!
Oh, Miranda, this is like your high school (and my workplace) all over again. You are sowing seeds 100 fold but some will take fruit later and you will never know about it until Heaven. And you are only called to faithfully do your part; God will faithfully do His.
God told Isaiah, when He sent him, “Seeing they will not see; hearing they will not hear.” I think you just had an Isaiah week. There may be more. But you were still faithful.
I absolutely know it was you who made the topic of your snack club the daily devotionals because I have had those spiritual conversations with you and know your hunger to know Jesus more.
Every bit of this is in His plan for you (and for the kids, too). As you said, there were some very troubling stories. There may be one girl whose only reason for coming to camp was to get away from a stepfather doing evil things with her. She found that for a few days and may find Christ later.
You are making a difference, my sister.
