My mom (Gail Slaughenhaupt for those who may not know) tripped at home this evening and fell on her shoulder. Her right shoulder is fragmented, and will require surgery at some point. We are still at the emergency room now, and she's doing ok. However, she's in quite a bit of pain. Would appreciate your prayers for her.

So happy she is making progress. Hope she is enjoying the meals that express our love for her. If she feels like soup tomorrow, please tell her the Panera creamy tomato is actually quite good! :-)

*Final update*. Mom is now home and doing well. One praise is that the nurse told her on the way to surgery that it's unheard of to have this type of surgery on a Saturday and especially on a Saturday evening. So we're thankful that God worked that out for her.
*Update*. Discharge paperwork has been started, so she will probably come home around noon or so today. Thank you all for all your prayers and kind words. They are greatly appreciated!

*Update* She is back in her room now. In some pain, but resting and doing ok. Will tentatively go home tomorrow.

*Update* They are planning to do a reverse shoulder replacement, and surgery is scheduled for 7 PM tonight.

Oh, Jeff, I just saw this and I am so sorry. Glad for the update that she is getting medicine that is helping somewhat with the pain.. Thank you for keeping us updated on the possible surgery. Praying for wisdom for doctors and a complete recovery. Love your mom! ๐๐
*Update* The morphine drip is helping for the pain, and the doctor's assistant has stopped in to see her. They will be doing a CT scan to determine if it can be fixed or needs to be replaced. She hasn't been able to get any sleep yet though.
