Please pray for Cindy Samonte, wife of our building chaplain at Langley AFB. She had part of her colon sectioned off for cancer; now a scan has revealed a couple of nearby spots that need to be investigated. The children are still quite young and her hubby's prayer is she will live and thrive.
They are a born again couple, a rarity for a chaplain in the military nowadays.
I met him a couple of months ago, right after he arrived, when something happened and I needed counsel (since Pastor does not have a top secret clearance). It felt like a divine appointment when I found out he is born again and he counseled me from God's Word.
I did not see him again till Friday when he and his assistant were walking around visiting people at their desks.
I think a friend for whom I have been praying heard us talking about the Lord, too!
If anyone should want to go to the visitation, a week from today at the funeral home on the corner of Princess Anne and Dam Neck, ask me for the details. Chaplain Samonte also is the assistant pastor of a church in VB so the visitation/funeral is in VB.
Sorry, some may not have heard Weds night that Cindy passed away this week.

Update on Cindy Samonte: her surgery is Wednesday. The spots will be removed and her digestive tract will be flooded with chemo for anything too small to see.
The good news after chemo is no new spots, though one grew somewhat during the treatments.
Chaps seemed in good spirits today, counting on the Lord to carry them through.
We’ll continue to pray for her at the landreth house. Thank you for the report.
10 Feb update: Cindy does have three spots of new cancer after chemo. They have an appointment within the next few days to find out if it is the same cancer (then she will have immediate surgery) or a new cancer (if so, they will do chemo again before surgery). The prognosis is pretty good either way but one spot in her abdomen is giving her a lot of pain.
The chaplain stopped by my desk today—I told him that he had about 20 people praying for him Sunday morning via TabConnect. And more later. He is extremely grateful.
Several people had asked me the ages of the children, they are 13 and 15.
