Going Home - Update on Dad (8/3 PM)

This afternoon we were able to hear from Dad’s team of doctors about his condition. All the tests showed a structural soundness to his heart, but they are focused on strengthening his heart muscle. They have prescribed a course of medication that is known to help with this and Lordwilling could help correct the mitral valve leak without further medical intervention. Obviously after a hospital stay, Dad needs some good rest, and we are thankful that the doctors have signed off on his discharge. Please pray for good rest and acclimation to the new medications over the next few days. Thank you for your prayers and love shown over these days. If you’d like to visit them at the house, just check with Mom or Abby about the best times as he rests and regains strength and gets back into his normal routine.

Tell our Pastor that we pray regularly for him! 🥹🙏🏻🙏🏻

Update on Dad (8/3 AM)

Just an update from this morning. They came and took Dad early this morning for the series of tests that will help determine his treatment going forward. He came through those procedures well! Thankfully all the work they did on his heart in December looks great. It seems the cause of the problem now is a severely leaking mitral valve. He will need another procedure to correct this, but the doctors are not sure yet when that will occur. Thank you for praying for him and for all of us. Although these complications are not normal for someone who has had this much work done on his heart in the last 6 months, we are grateful to be moving toward a solution. Dad has had great opportunities to share Christ with his care team. Pray for God’s work to continue even in the midst of these challenges. We love you…

Update on Pastor (8/1 AM)

Thank you all again for praying for Dad as he waited for a spot in the Heart Hospital. Praise the Lord that around 10PM last night, he was transferred from the transitional unit in the ER to Room 537 in the Heart Hospital. The medication for fluid reduction is also working. He has lost 12 pounds since being admitted to the ER on Wednesday. We expect him to have some tests done probably Monday that may reveal why this fluid buildup occurred in the first place. Pray with us that he would get some rest and continue to improve as we wait for the doctors to determine the best course of action for preventing this from happening again. Feel free to go by and visit if you’d like. We all so appreciate and love each of you for your care, concern, and support through these difficult days.

Update on Pastor (7/30 PM)

Pastor Baker is currently situated in Transition Unit 1. To visit, use the hospital Main Entrance (Kauffman), and staff will direct you.

He will be transferred to the Heart Hospital as soon as a room is available.

Please pray as the doctors work to relieve Pastor from the retained fluid in his body. By tomorrow the doctors hope to discuss a complete diagnosis and treatment plan for the underlying cause of fluid retention.

May the Lord continue to comfort and provide Pastor Baker with His perfect watch-care.
