Update on Pastor (7/30 PM)

Pastor Baker is currently situated in Transition Unit 1. To visit, use the hospital Main Entrance (Kauffman), and staff will direct you.

He will be transferred to the Heart Hospital as soon as a room is available.

Please pray as the doctors work to relieve Pastor from the retained fluid in his body. By tomorrow the doctors hope to discuss a complete diagnosis and treatment plan for the underlying cause of fluid retention.

May the Lord continue to comfort and provide Pastor Baker with His perfect watch-care.

Update on Pastor (7/30/26 AM)

Thank you all for praying for Dad through the night. Unfortunately the hospital is very busy. They have waited in a smaller waiting room all night while being treated for the fluid overload. Pray with us that as people are discharged this morning that a bed would open for him to get into the hospital. We need a room so that he can get the tests needed and also get some rest. Once we know where he is going to be for the next few days, we will share that information with you so that you can visit if you’d like. We really do love you all and appreciate the kind messages to all of us.

Pastor Baker Admitted to the Hospital

After a couple of weeks of shortness of breath, Pastor and Marci decided to not wait until August 19 for an in-office doctor consultation and went to Norfolk General this afternoon (7/29). The blood work, X-rays, and EKG revealed some water buildup in Pastor’s lungs, stomach, and legs. He is being given extra diuretics to get rid of the excess fluids while other tests are run to be sure the heart is operating properly. He is waiting to be admitted to a regular hospital room. Pray that a room becomes available soon.
