Meeting the Perezes yesterday was wonderful!
RuthAnna and I were waiting to practice in the auditorium when we heard a member come in and greet the Perezes in Spanish. Then Mrs. Perez started to walk up to greet us so I also greeted her in Spanish, and told her RuthAnna could also speak it..
We had the nicest conversation, both before Sunday school and after the evening service, mostly in Spanish. Ruth Perez was so sweet and patient. I donโt always have the widest vocabulary but I can get the thought across eventually, so we shared our background stories in Spanish. A real highlight for me.
Another language highlight yesterday was reading I Timothy 3:16 in Greek in my Bible study. I had noticed it appears to be a first century creed. I can just imagine our early Christian brothers and sisters reciting it together in a service. Theโฆ
Then, just because God is that good, He gave me three Spanish-speaking coworkers on one of the two teams I work with. The two gals were talking away in Spanish yesterday and I came over and said something in Spanish that made them laugh. Today one came over to sit with me and ask my background. We had about a ten minute chat in Spanish before we got down to our work. I started on Spanish 52 years ago so, by now, it is a very calming, comforting language to my ears.
