God’s Good Plan
I was touched today when two close coworkers of mine, Raelynn and Alex, took the day off to go to the Norfolk City Hall and get married!
Yes, they want orders to Alaska together and that is the way to do it.
Yet even when young couples are not believers and even when the ceremony is totally secular, I always rejoice at the re-enactment of the vows that emphasize God's good gift of marriage. For such a high percentage of us, it is His good plan for human thriving.
Just last week another coworker couple I have mentioned in Ladies' Prayer Meeting, Bree and Chandler, who married during the pandemic, had a child, a sweet little girl who came several weeks early.
They too had married to secure orders together, to South Korea in their case. And in order to get married during the pandemic, they left work early on a Thursday and drove around till they found a city hall open for business! In Virginia Beach. I arrived home to a texted picture from in front of our city hall!
Bree and Chandler lost a baby last year quite far along in a pregnancy. This nearly destroyed Chandler . . . I was urging Bree to get him to the chaplain in Korea and messaging my prayers for them. I do not think they are yet believers. But we work with God to make a difference! I am so happy He has given them a child at last!
