Daniel - Update
UPDATE 8-14-24. Daniel-Lorrie Peters
Tomorrow is graduation day!! It has been a grueling process, but God has been faithful and Daniel has persevered through excruciating pain to gain the strength to come home.
Last night was sporadic rest. His pain was mostly controlled, he was just restless and uncomfortable after a hard day of therapy. As you can imagine, getting pressure off of his pelvis can put more on his ribs and relieving pressure from his ribs places more on his pelvis. Itโs a rotation process to keep him most comfortable so he can rest.
Of course he gets his best sleep right before heโs supposed to get up, but at least he slept well then. He had a full day of therapy today, stacked one right after the other, to allow him to rest for the remainder of the day to be ready to come home in the morning.
He was pretty worn out, but we watched therapists and the rehab team give him hugs and thank him for being a pleasant patient despite his pain. Most were shocked that he is only two weeks since his injury. God has been merciful and allowed him to progress well. Daniel did not hesitate to give God the credit for his progress. Time and time again he planted seeds of faith. May God, in His time, give the increase! He promises His word will not return void.
Please pray that they will give him adequate pain control for home. Pray for his outpatient therapy to go well. Therapy appointments arenโt available until the 28th, but they gave us exercises for home until we can get into therapy, and he will have follow up appointments in the interim. They expect bone healing time to take three months and a fuller recovery to take 4-6 months.
Meanwhile work is going on at home to allow him the safest environment possible to transition home. He is only able to walk with a walker short distances and the remainder of the time he is wheelchair dependent. Ramps and grab bars are being built and installed.
Please pray for a restful night for both Daniel and Lorrie tonight so they can be rested when they transition him tomorrow, and pray for a safe and uneventful transition home tomorrow.
Continued thanks for your love, support, and prayers. Our gratitude is beyond expression.
Philippians 4:6. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
God is able!!

Praise the Lord!!
