With permission, I share this lovely Facebook post and pic from a couple who are very precious to those of us who knew them at Tab. Tap the first sentence to see the rest:
”I dislike pictures, but this one, I like, and not just because of the cute sunglasses my sister gave me to hide tired, wrinkled eyes, but because I see the gift of my husband and the decades of life that we have shared.
I see two people, so undeserving but redeemed by the Lord Jesus who saved us by grace through faith.
I see two people, limping imperfectly together, but leaning on Jesus, like so many of you.
Two people hurting over things only we know.
Two people learning how to parent beautiful adult children.
Two people who love others only because Christ loved them first.
Two people sorrowing yet smiling with genuine joy because of Jesus, and two people looking with hope to the days ahead because the best is yet to come, for Believers.
It would be disingenuous to say that the past few years have not shaken and tried many of us beyond what we thought possible to bear, but God, He is working beautiful things in the midst of it all.”
The sacrifice of praise has been offered to You, Lord from the tear drenched lips of Believers; I stand amazed at Your grace that binds our hearts to one another and to You.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33
