PRAISE 🙌

Sitting here safely behind my third floor hotel window, watching a lightning storm take place outside at 5:30 AM, I have so many reasons for praise.

I am already awake and showered to meet my brother and his wife for breakfast in three hours. My men can do that shortly, when they wake up.

We spent part of my birthday Sunday with my Dad, my first birthday with him in about 20 years.

We had breakfast with my cousin and his wife yesterday (see pictures). They are the humble, unassuming parents of Tate, the Liberty student whose team took first in the national snowboarding championships this year. Tate took first in two individual events and was named the tournament’s MVP. He always leads out with his testimony for Christ every time he speaks!

We had dinner last night with Dad and Terry, his now official girlfriend. She is the widow of my mom’s cousin so she was already in the family and I have known her all of my life. Never sat and talked with her at length until last night. I can see how good she is for my dad. They both nursed a spouse through a fatal illness, then God gave them each other in their grief.

Terry was their church organist for almost 50 years; I attended high school with her two daughters, one of them in my class. I have so much respect for her and now can see the wise, kind heart behind a lifetime of service.

And now we have more family events the next four days before we are homeward bound.

God is so good to us.
