Lots of Loss in One Family
Pls pray for my friend Maxine at our former church. Her family was one of a couple three generational families in that church. Maxine lost her mother in August, her dad in November, and her husband last week, in Feb. Her parents were a sweet couple that emigrated to the U.S. from the Netherlands, via Argentina, after World War II. Her husbandโs death was very sudden.

Maxine and I have mainly kept in touch via social media. She reminded me this morning that she has just retired, too. Do you see the gospel opportunity here?
Our prior church was Episcopalian. I know there are genuinely saved Episcopalians but sometimes it is hard to tell the ones who count on Christ alone for salvation from those who think their works will save them (or need to be added to what Christ has already done). As Noel says, we were there for nine years and the entire gospel was preached in bits and pieces, never all at the same time.
So this precious friend and I need to go for coffee together.
He's doing fine, figured out the new coffee maker and how to run the dishwasher. I cooked way ahead and he always has the option for our dining room. So he's good and always has optionsfor a few meals still in our dining room. Just hate he has to drive to forto Norfolk twice daily.:)Thanks so much for your prayers!

Prayers requested for strength and encouragement
A quick update on Kirk, this is Karen. Although he has been downgraded from the ICU, he had a good day yesterday, today not so much. He is saying he has no strength and is very much discouraged. Prayers are appreciated and felt. Most certainly, visits are also appreciated. Understand of course that he has been diagnosed with the nastiest flu of the season, Flu A, so take precautions if you do come visit. We appreciate all of the orayers thus far.
