Noel and I have tickets to fly to Arizona from 3-13 October and would love to hear your previous experiences there.
We have hotel reservations in Sedona, by the Grand Canyon, in Mesa Verde, Colorado because that is the closest Holiday Inn Express to Four Corners (and Mesa Verde National Park has Native American cliff dwellings) , and near Petrified Forest National Park.
What are your “don’t miss” places there?
I googled government shutdowns today (because we are traveling two days into the new fiscal year) and I was so blessed to see only three states fund their national parks when the federal government shuts down, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah!
They say they do it because people broke through the gates in 2019 when all the parks were closed and trashed them so badly. That was more expensive (and worse for their state tourism) than just picking up the bill to leave them open.
