Falling in Love with the Gospel of John

You have heard me say it before but I will say it again.

I believe that the five books John wrote, especially his gospel, will forever be my favorite books of the Bible.

Without taking away from the 100% divine, 100% inspired, even down to the breathing marks, aspect of Scripture, the Bible is also 100% human. It is a mystery, like the God-man Himself is a mystery. How can someone or something be completely divine and completely human at the same time? One day we will ask.

Meanwhile, studying the epistles of John and now the gospel of John with my best friend has changed me forever. John was Jesus' best earthly friend. So I am trying to always read through those eyes. A man who was passionately in love with his Friend, who also, it turned out, was his Lord! When you read it that way, it becomes so living and so alive and so exciting!!!
