It will be no secret to those of you who heard Craig Hartman's Q and A that I struggle with how to help Jewish friends see that their Messiah has come . . . and He is Jesus!
The blogger I subscribe to has become somewhat of a friend. She knows the Old Testament well but not all Jewish people even believe there is a God. So I wrote the below as a comment one day to a blog that asked the question: Why has every era throughout history tried to destroy the Jews? Why are we hated so much?
I would love for any input from the rest of you on ways to effectively turn the attention of Jewish people to Jesus.
"I am gonna go with the nuclear option and say that antisemitism is one reason I would believe in the devil's existence even if I did not believe the Scriptures. If the devil is truly an angel who turned from good to evil and was deported from Heaven, he would spend all of his angelic powers and time on plotting how to harm that which God loves. His Chosen People? Yes. Yet, you are still here. And that would be one reason I would believe in God even if I did not believe the Scriptures. There is still unfulfilled prophecy in both testaments regarding the Jews. They cannot and must not pass away until the end of time comes for us all because they/you are written into the script. I believe God loves you deeply and will never turn away from your suffering, however it is imposed. And because He loves you, I love you and your people. That might sound like a mushy Christian saying that. And that is okay."
