A Thought
I heard an idea on a podcast the other day. We have all heard the saying, “I would not want to join the perfect church because, when I joined, it would become imperfect.”
The idea I heard was along the lines of that saying. It was that if we were given our heart’s desire for the perfect church, we would never have to grow, stretch, or be challenged. And that is not God’s intent for us. A good church is meant to change us to be more and more Christlike, not to confirm our existing ideas of what perfection is!
I love that. The diversity of personalities in our church gets us ready for even more diversity of personalities in heaven. We will still be ourselves, just without sin. So we now practice what we will live forever.
