The Blessing of Friendship
I have been thinking about the friendships God gives us, spurred on in thought by the podcasts I listen to on the way to work.
It is said that our closest friends know us warts and all and that they are always there for us, as we are for them.
Along with a loving husband, son, and father, I count myself blessed to have four friends I call my posse. I know the rest of you can resonate to this—those friends with whom you can talk about everything . . . And the hours you can spend doing that!
This week was interesting praying for my posse. One is in Belgium with her husband; one is in Portugal with her husband. One just returned from watching one of her daughters get her undergrad degree at PCC, while another daughter got her Masters at Liberty. And one is spending hours each day with her husband, getting conservatorship of her mother in law who can no longer handle her own affairs. We will see two of these friends in mid-June, Lord willing, and hopefully all of them over the summer.
I was reminded that God was never, ever alone; friendship is part of the Trinity and always has been. Friendship is to remind us that we do not need to travel alone. Life’s sweetness and life’s challenges are meant to be shared. I am so happy for God’s gift of friends.
Well said Mary. 👍🏼
