We got this update last night…
Susan has a clot in her leg where the vein was removed. If the doctors start an aggressive blood thinning medication, it creates a high risk of brain bleed due to her recent stroke. She will need bloodwork to monitor her clotting times every few hours, neurology checks every four hours, and another CT scan to monitor her recent stroke. Due to the higher risk of brain bleed we have deferred the heparin drip tonight, they will get a formal neurology consult tomorrow morning, further evaluation with heart and neurological team and make the decision on how to move forward. Please bathe her and the family in prayer!!
