Michael Aschenbrener (Winterville,N.C.)- this is my sister Sally’s boyfriend-he has very strong Neurological Functional decline. From what we are told is what they believe is the beginning stages of Parkinson’s.
Ed Brumfield- a family friend who is currently in the hospital in Buffalo, New York (a bit a way from where he lives in Silver Creek). He has diabetes with liver and kidney difficulties causing ascites (water retention or build up) and it effects his platelet levels. He developed a lung infection and is being treated for that also. He lives by himself and has no immediate family with him.

Do you know if either of these gentlemen have home health care agencies in or near where they live? This would help both of them with daily activities, hygiene care (showers, or bed baths, reminders if needed to brush their teeth, grooming needs, incontinence care if needed), assist with dressing and undressing if needed, prepare and cook their meals, make sure they eat, assist them with eating if needed, reminders to take their medicine. Help with transferring from bed to chair and back when ready, in /out of shower, on / off of toilet, if needed. Help with walking if needed, light housekeeping. With in home health care a nurse from their care company will do regular visits to check on them, see if any of their care plan needs to be changed, see how the aide in their home is doing with their care. This also helps the families incase they work and can't be home with them. This also gives the families break times to prevent exhaustion from 24 hour care. This prevents caregiver burnout and exhaustion. Aide can also notify the family in changes in their family member, call 911 incase of emergencies, notify their care company nurse of changes and of 911 call.
