Dr. Marty Marriott with the Lord
Maranatha Baptist University is saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Marty Marriott, who served as the university's fifth president from 2010 to 2023 and as chancellor from 2023 to 2026.
A faithful servant and visionary leader, Dr. Marriott guided Maranatha through years of growth while remaining deeply committed to the University's mission to do all "To the Praise of His Glory." His leadership initiatives expanded global access to Christian education and strengthened the university's spiritual foundation.
Prior to his presidency, Dr. Marriott pastored churches in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and Michigan for over three decades. He and his wife, Miriam, shared a lifelong ministry partnership marked by warmth, hospitality, and a passion for training the next generation of Christians. "Dr.
Marriott's walk with the Lord, his love for his family, his care for MBU students, and his commitment to God's Word have been exemplary," said Dr. Matthew Davis, MBU CEO.
Dr. Marriott is survived by his wife, Miriam, their three children-Rebecca, Rachel, and David-and their twelve grandchildren. Memorial service details will be shared soon.
